Hello! I'm Hank, but you can call me DJ DJ Hankerchief. My story begins in the vibrant state of Connecticut, where I was born and raised. From an early age, I was drawn to the captivating world of the arts, particularly theater and performance. This passion led me on a unique path that took me from the East Coast to the tropical paradise of Hawaii for my studies, and eventually, to the breathtaking landscapes of Alaska, where I found my true calling as a DJ.

Growing up in Connecticut, I was fortunate to be surrounded by a rich cultural scene that nurtured my creative spirit. I immersed myself in theater productions, both on and off stage, developing a deep understanding of storytelling and the power of performance. This foundation would later influence my unique approach to DJing, adding a touch of theatrics to every set I play.

In pursuit of my dreams, I ventured to the University of Hawaii to study theater and performance arts. Hawaii's vibrant and diverse culture left an indelible mark on me. I was exposed to traditional Hawaiian music and dance, as well as the vibrant local entertainment scene. It was during my time in Hawaii that I first discovered my love for DJing and fell in love with my wife, Leah. I started experimenting with mixing tracks, creating unique blends that brought people together on the dance floor.

However, it was when we moved to Alaska in 2007 that I truly found my niche. The vast and rugged beauty of this state captivated my heart. I felt a deep connection to the tight-knit communities and the unique spirit of adventure that Alaska embodies. I began to blend my theater background and my passion for music, creating immersive and memorable experiences for my audiences.

I started DJing at the Yukon in 2010 and still play every Thursday in the summer. I love it! I love playing all types of music. I play everything from country to EDM.

As a DJ, I specialize in crafting tailored soundtracks for a variety of events, from weddings and private parties to corporate functions and community gatherings. My theater background allows me to create unique atmospheres, enhancing the overall experience for my clients and their guests. I pride myself on reading the crowd, understanding their energy, and adapting my sets to create unforgettable moments.

My musical tastes are diverse, and I enjoy curating playlists that reflect the personalities and preferences of my clients. From the latest chart-topping hits to classic favorites, and from upbeat dance tracks to soulful ballads, I have an extensive library that caters to all ages and genres. Seward, Alaska has become my home, and I feel a deep sense of connection and gratitude for the life I've built here.
